Generating a Sample Frequency Schedule—Key Exercises

Basic Data Setup
Viewing a Control Plan for Inventory
Purpose: The purpose of this exercises is to view an
Inventory control plan to be used for scheduling a sample frequency.
Menu Path: Quality Management/Control Plan/Control
Plan – Inventory
- Open the Control Plan – Inventory window.
- Query for part no. 29-521, Intake Valve.
General Exercise for Control Plan for Inventory
Main Exercises
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to
schedule a sample (i.e., analysis) frequency.
Menu Path: Quality
Management/Control Plan/Control
Plan – Inventory
- Open the Control Plan – Inventory window.
- Query for your previously created Inventory control plan for part no. 29-521, Intake Valve.
- Right-click in the header and then click Schedule Sample Frequency.
The Schedule Sample Frequency window appears.
- Enter a period start and end date.
- Choose a frequency in year, month, week, or day. If you choose weekly sampling, you
need to
specify the days under Which Days. If you choose daily sampling, a number
between 1 and 31 must be selected for use in the scheduled date calculation.
For example, if you enter 2, the creation of the analysis will be scheduled
once every two days during the period. If you enter 7, 14, 21, or 28, you
must select a day under Repeated Frequency.
- Click Schedule.
- Verify that the Scheduled check box is selected in the Control
Plan – Inventory window.
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to view an
analysis schedule.

Management/Control Plan/Overview – Scheduled Control Plan Inventory
- Open the Control Plan – Inventory window.
- View the scheduled analysis by right-clicking in the header and then
clicking Overview – Sample Schedule. The Overview –
Scheduled Control Plan Inventory window appears. Note: This
window can also be opened directly from
the Navigator, as shown under Menu Path above.
- Verify that the schedule you created in the previous exercise is shown.
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show how to delete an
analysis schedule.
Menu Path: Quality
Management/Control Plan/Control Plan – Inventory
- Open the Control Plan – Inventory window.
- Delete the scheduled analysis by right-clicking in the header and then
clicking Delete Frequency Schedule.
- Verify that the Scheduled check box is cleared in the Control
Plan – Inventory window.
