Basic Data Setup

Edit Control Plan

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to verify the existence of a control plan in the Active status, for a manufactured part.

Menu Path: Quality Management/Control Plan/Control Plan – Manufacturing

  1. Open the Control Plan – Manufacturing window.
  2. Query for the part number 29-321, Camshaft at Site 1.
  3. Verify that a control plan in the Active status exists.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn the features of Dynamic Control Plan.

Menu Path: Shop Order/Shop Orders/Shop Order

Edit Control Plan

  1. Open the Shop Order window, and create a new record.
  2. In the Part no field enter  29-321, and site 1 in the Site field.
  3. In the Lot Size field enter 10 for the quantity to be manufactured. 
  4. In the Need Date field enter a date two weeks from the current date.
  5. Right-click and click Release.
  6. Click the Control Plan tab.
  7. Clear the Included check box for data point 2, and save your changes. 

Note:  The values in the Modified By and Modified Date fields for the data point will be entered automatically with the user ID and date respectively. 

  1. Right-click in the header section of the Control Plan tab and click Approve Modifications

Note:  In the Control Plan Attributes group box, the status of the Modification Status field will be changed to Approved and the Modified check box will be selected. The values in the  Approved By and Approval Date fields will appear automatically with user name and date respectively.

  1. Click the Operations tab. Select operation 30, right-click and click Shop Order Analysis/Create.
  2. Verify that only the included data points are incorporated into the analysis.
  3. Click the Control Plan tab.
  4. Enter a new data point for operation 30.
  5. Select the Included check box for the new data point, and save your changes.
  6. Right-click in the header section of the control plan and click Approve Modifications.
  7. Click the Operations tab, and select operation 30.
  8. Right-click and click Shop Order Analysis/Create. 
  9. Verify that only the included data points are incorporated into the analysis.
