Create Project

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize you with the data that must be in place before you can do the exercises below.

  1. Create a new project.

Creating Projects—Exercises 

Create Currency Rates

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to define a new rate type to use with multicurrency budgeting.

 

Note: If you have already created a currency rate type in the Project Currency Budgeting exercise, you have the option of using the same for Multicurrency Budgeting. You can also create a new rate type to be used specifically with Multicurrency Budgeting.


Exercise for Creating Currency Rate Types

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to initiate the use of Multicurrency Budgeting for a project.

Windows:
Project

Initiate Multicurrency Budgeting and Forecasting

  1. Open Project window.
  2. Query for the project you created in the above exercise.
  3. Click on the Currency tab and select the Budget in Multicurrency check box in the Currency Rate Type for Budgeting and Forecasting area.

Note: Changes will not be allowed to this check box once the project has reached the Approved status.

  1. In the Currency Rate Type field and add the following:
Currency Rate Type
PRJ RATES
  1. Save the changes (F12).

Now you have selected to use multicurrency budgeting in this project. The currency rates to calculate base currency values for budgeting and forecasting will be based on the PRJ RATES rate type.
