Setting Up Authorization Group—Basic Data and Requirements Exercises

IMPORTANT
It is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to familiarize you with the functionality for creating an authorization group.

Windows:
Purchase Authorization Basic Data/Authorization Groups

You will be heading a group of people who collectively will be responsible for authorizing some of IFS Racing's purchases. It will be sufficient for any one of the group members to authorize the purchase, i.e., purchase requisition or purchase order. Therefore, you will need to be create a new authorization group in the system.

Creating an Authorization Group

  1. Open the Purchase Authorization Basic Data window.
  2. Search for your company.
  3. Click the Authorization Groups tab and create a new record (F5) for the authorization group.
  4. In the Authorization Group ID field, enter an ID, e.g., the initials, for the authorization group.
  5. In the Description field, enter a description of the authorization group.
  6. Select a row in the table and create a new record (F5).
  7. In the Authorizer ID list, click the ID of the authorizer to add to the group. The name is populated.
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each additional authorizer to add to the group.
  9. Save your changes (F12).
