Dock Code—Basic Data and Requirements Exercise

IMPORTANT
It is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain you data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to enter dock and subdock codes. These codes are used to provide delivery information details.

Entering Dock Code

  1. Create a new record (F5).
  2. Create a dock code by entering XXN10 (replacing XX with your initials) in the Dock Code field.
  3. Enter a corresponding dock code description, e.g., North Cargo Bay 10.
  4. Enter the site (your site) where XXN10 is situated. You can specify this manually or use the List of Values.
  5. Create a new row (F5).
  6. Create a subdock by entering 10A in the Subdock Code column.
  7. Enter a corresponding subdock description, e.g., Gate 10 A.
  8. Create subdocks 10B and 10C.
  9. Save your changes (F12).

Note: You can enter docks with the same name (and code) in more than one site.
