Below is a list of tips and tricks for the Perform Maintenance Engineering course. Click one of the items below to see information that may be helpful to you as you take the course.
There is a number of predefined user IDs for the IFS/Vehicle Information Management (IFS/VIM) courses. This makes it easier for the teacher as he or she does not have to define users when starting a training course. These users have been set up properly with company, site, employee, etc.
User ID | Role | Student Number | Company | Site |
VIM | Main VIM user | - | 10 | 91 |
JATA | Teacher | - | 10 | 91 |
CHBE | Student | n=1 | 10 | 91 |
COHO | Student | n=2 | 10 | 91 |
FRFO | Student | n=3 | 10 | 91 |
GEPI | Student | n=4 | 10 | 91 |
JABR | Student | n=5 | 10 | 91 |
JOHA | Student | n=6 | 10 | 91 |
MIJA | Student | n=7 | 10 | 91 |
PERO | Student | n=8 | 10 | 91 |
RIST | Student | n=9 | 10 | 91 |
ROPA | Student | n=10 | 10 | 91 |
In the exercises you will see that most of the data are specified with prefix n, X or a combination of these. For example, nX747-900 (Part Number), X10000 (Serial Number) and nAC (Maintenance Group).
The use of prefixes has several advantages:
Data Specification | Teacher | Student Number n |
Vehicle Part No | X747-900 | nX747-900 |
Revision | * | * |
Top Part S/N | X10000 | nX20000 |
Structure Part S/N | X19999 | nX39999 |
Workshop | LAX-C LAX-L |
nLAX-C nLAX-L |
To Perform Maintenance Engineering
This window displays information to support the selection of serials or vehicles for structure changes and operational planning.
Use this window to compare the template structure for a given template part revision and structure position with the serial structure of a given serial.
Course attendees will enter relevant data during the Manage Master Configuration and Manage Serialized Configuration courses. Otherwise use part number X747-900 revision * and serial number X10000.
When making a course, the main focus has been to present application level capability. In some extent this will form a historical view leading to proper data. Hence, the course attendees that have passed all IFS/VIM courses may recognize their own entries which will make sense.
