Tips and Tricks for Overall Equipment Effectiveness

Below is a list of tips and tricks for the Overall Equipment Effectiveness course. Click one of the items below to see information that may be helpful to you as you take the course.

Data Used in Course Material

To ensure that you will find all necessary data for this course make sure that you have an available test environment with the RACE database installed.

The RACE database will contain data for three different production units.

PM1 - will contain six months of reported events.

PM2 and PACK - will contain three months reported event.

A script is included to ensure that the RACE data is always up to date. Note: The script has to be executed on the untouched RACE data before you begin the course. The script is named Prepare_OEE.SQL* and should be executed by an application owner, please contact your system administrator for assistance. When executing the script it is best that you enter a date that is two weeks ahead of the date the course is scheduled to start.

* (The Prepare_OEE.SQL script is available together with the installation files in the Build structure under the ..\template\oee folder).

Logon Users and Production Unit information

The RACE database contains user identities ranging from EAM1-EAM17 that can be used when following this course. When following the exercises it is very important that all students (and instructors) enter their data in the PM2 production unit and leave the PM1 production unit intact to be used only for Follow up and Analysis. This is to ensure that the correct data will be available for analysis purposes towards the end of the course.

Therefore the PM2 production unit should only be used for:

And the PM1 production unit should be used for:

Importance of Student-Created Data

It is extremely important that you work with your own data to maintain data integrity. When you create your own data in an exercise, it is recommended that you add your initials, XX to the data codes, e.g., PU-XX for a production unit defined. It will be easy for you to find your data later on during the exercises, and prevent others from using your data.
