Connecting Discrepancy Codes and Repair Codes—Exercises

Main Exercises

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to define the repair codes applicable for each part, site and discrepancy code combination. This is so that when a discrepancy is reported the repairs required will be called for automatically.

Windows:
Discrepancy Repair Code

  1. Query for your Discrepancy Codes.
  2. Highlight your part number.
  3. Create a new record (F5) in the bottom portion of the screen next to Repair Code column.
  4. Enter the codes as listed below.
  5. Save the record(F12).
  6. Repeat Steps 2-5 for all records in the table below for each part number.
  7. Select you next your Discrepancy Code and repeat the connection process for each Discrepancy Code / Part number combination.

Hint: Create all the records needed for one combination of Discrepancy Code / Part Number combination and highlight the rows and do an RMB and Copy Object go back to the top of the window and select the next Part Number set the focus in the records in the bottom and RMB to Paste Object.
