Basic Data Setup

Create Inventory Parts

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create inventory parts to be used by a production line,

Windows:
Inventory Part

  1. Open the Inventory Part window.
  2. Create new inventory parts for your site and, and enter the values shown in the table below.

    2. Save the records.

Part Catalog

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to define the parts as serialized.

Windows:
Part

  1. Open the Part window.
  2. Query for the parts beginning with 61–, and give those parts the following characteristics shown in the table below.

Create a Routing

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create work centers to create a routing

Windows:
Routing

  1. Open the Routing window.
  2. Create a routing where Part 61–910 has two operations: one with Work Center 910 (Operation 10), and one with Work Center 920 (Operation 20).
  3. Make the routing Buildable.
  4. Create a routing where Part 61–911 has two operations: one with Work Center 910 (Operation 10), and one with Work Center 920 (Operation 20).
  5. Make the routing Buildable.

Create a Product Structure

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create work centers to create a product structure.

Windows:
Product Structure

  1. Open the Product Structure window.
  2. Create a product structure where Part 61–910 contains one piece of Part 61–999.
  3. Connect Part 61–999 to Operation 10.
  4. Make the structure buildable.
  5. Create a product structure where Part 61–911 contains one piece of Part 61–998.
  6. Connect Part 61–998 to Operation 10.
  7. Make the structure buildable.

Cost Calculation

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create inventory value for the parts so that production receipt can be performed in later exercises. 

Windows:
All Levels Part Cost Calculation
Copy Cost To Cost Set One

  1. Open the All Levels Part Cost Calculation window.
  2. Enter your site, Part 61–910, and Cost Set 2.
  3. Click OK to perform cost calculation.
  4. Open Copy Cost Set to Cost Set One window
  5. Enter your site, specify From Cost Set 2 and Part 61–910. Select the Include Components check box.
  6. Click OK to perform copying process.
  7. Open All Levels Part Cost Calculation window again.
  8. Enter your site, Part 61–911, and Cost Set 2.
  9. Click OK to perform cost calculation.
  10. Open Copy Cost Set to Cost Set One window.
  11. Enter your site, specify From Cost Set 2 and Part 61–911, and select the Include Components check box.
  12. Click OK to perform copying process.

Connect Part to a Production Line

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create or add a part that can use report points when reporting production.

Windows:
Production Line

  1. Open the Production Line window.
  2. Query for Production Line 900, Production Line for Rims.
  3. Click the Part tab. Add Parts 61–910 and 61–911.

Receive Part into Inventory

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to receive some serialized material into inventory

Windows:
Receive Inventory Line

  1. Open the Receive Inventory Part window. Query for the part 61-998.
  2. Receive 50 pcs of Part 61–998 into Location RLI.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how serialized production works with production schedules.

Windows:
Production Schedule by Line
Issue Inventory Part

Serialized Production

  1. Open the Production Schedule by Line window.
  2. Create a new schedule for Part 61–910. Remember that this is serialized production, so you should not include too many pieces in each schedule.
  3. Select a schedule line for 61-910. Right-click and then click Production Receipt.
  4. In the Production Receipt window, Enter 10pcs for Qty reported. Select the Report Point check box. Specify immediate backflush and select Report Point from List. Click OK.
  5. Go back to Production Schedule by Line window. Right-click and then click Production Receipt
  6. Enter 10pcs for Qty reported. Select the Complete check box. Specify immediate backflush and select Location No from List. Click OK to perform Production Receipt.
  7. Specify the serial numbers and click OK.
  8. Open the Issue Inventory Part  window, and check the results.

Multi level Serialized Production

  1. Open the Production Schedule by Line window.
  2. Query for Production Line 900, Production Line for Rims
  3. Create a new schedule for Part 61–911. Remember that this is serialized production, so you should not include too many pieces in each schedule.
  4. Select a schedule line for 61-910. Right-click and then click Production Receipt.
  5. n the Production Receipt window, Enter 10pcs for Qty reported. Select the Report Point check box. Specify immediate backflush and select Report Point from List.
  6. Click Components to open Production Receipt Material window. Click Assign to open Production Receipt Reservation window.
  7. Click Create to open Inventory Part Location window. Select the required number of parts with serial numbers and click OK.
  8. Click OK twice to accept the reservation.
  9. Go back to Production Schedule by Line window. Right-click and then click Production Receipt.
  10. Enter 10pcs for Qty reported. Select the Complete check box. Specify immediate backflush and select Location No from List. Click OK to open Production Receipt Serials window.
  11. Click Create Interval to open Enter Sequence/Serial window.
  12. Create an interval, and then click OK.
  13. Click OK again to accept the serials created.
  14. Open the Issue Inventory Part window, and check the results.
