Create and Confirm Proposed Schedules—Key Exercise

Basic Data Setup

You should have completed the specified exercise before you start on this exercise. In this exercise, you have to set up the basic data that will be used in this exercise. You must have defined demands for the production line parts before starting this exercise.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to work with production line management in creating proposed production schedules, and then confirming the proposed schedule as the new current schedule.

Create Proposed Schedules

  1. Open the Production Line Management window.
  2. Query for the production line 909.
  3. Right-click and then click Create Proposed Line Schedule.  In the dialog box that opens, leave the Part No field blank (indicating that all the parts should be scheduled), select the Load Infinite schedule generation option, and enter a date range of demands to be retrieved for scheduling.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click the Proposed Schedule tab, and check the results. 

Confirm Proposed Schedules

  1. Right-click and then click Confirm Proposed Schedule. In the dialog box that opens, leave the Part No field blank, and specify a date interval of proposed schedules to be confirmed. Select the Replace Existing Schedule check box.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click the Current Schedule tab, and check the results.
