Basic Data Setup
Create Inventory Locations
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to
set up inventory locations that can be used to illustrate the issue hierarchy at
production lines.
Windows:
Inventory Locations
- Open the
Inventory Locations window.
- Create two new records, and enter the values shown in the table below.

Create Inventory Parts
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to

inventory parts that will be used by superflush.

- Save the records.
Create a Product Structure
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to
create work
centers as a part of creating a product structure.
Windows:
Product Structure
- Open the
Product Structure window.
- Create a product structure in which Part 61902 contains one piece of
Part 61950. Make Part 61950 a phantom-consumed part.
- Make the structure buildable.
- Create a product structure in which Part 61950 contains one piece of
Part 61999.
- Make the structure buildable.
Connect Part to a Production Line
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to
add a part
to the production line.
Windows:
Production Line
- Populate production line 900, Production line for rims.
- On the
Part tab, add Part 61902.
Required Data
Adjust Inventory at Locations
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to
set up
inventory at some locations that can be used to illustrate the issue
hierarchy at production lines

Receive Inventory Part
- Make sure that the inventory level is zero at locations WCO, WCI, RLO, and RLI for Part 61999.
- Open the
Receive Inventory Part window.
- Receive 25 of Part 61999 into the Pick location and 5 into the Floor
location.

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to
illustrate the issue
hierarchy at production lines.

Report Production Issue Hierarchy
- Generate a production schedule for 10 pcs. Part 61901. Make
sure that you have about 10 schedules with 10 pcs. on each.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 10 pcs.
Select the Report Point check box. Specify immediate backflush and Report Point 10.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 10 pcs.
Select the Complete check box.
- Open the Issue Inventory Part window, and check the
results.
- Make sure that inventory is zero on the Pick and Floor locations for Part
61999.
- Open the
Receive Inventory Part window.
- Receive 25 of Part 61999 into location RLO, and receive 5 into location RLI.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 10 pcs.
Select the Report Point check box. Specify immediate backflush and Report Point 10.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 10 pcs.
Select the Complete check box.
- Receive 25 of Part 61999 into location RLI, and receive 5 into location
WCI
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 10 pcs.
Select the Report Point check box. Specify immediate backflush and Report Point
10.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 10 pcs.
Select the Complete check box.
- In which location is Part 61901 stored?
Superbackflush
- Make sure that there are at least 25 pcs of Part 61999 in the RLI location.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for 15 pcs.
Select the Report Point check box. Specify immediate backflush and Report Point 10.
- Open the Issue Inventory Part window. Query for 61-999 and
note the changes in inventory level.
Follow up and Move to History
- Open the Report Point Balance by Line Part window.
- Populate Part 61902, and note the value in Report Point Balance.
- Right-click and then click Report Production Receipt for the last
15 pcs. from the previous exercise. Select the Complete check box.
- Populate Part 61902, and note the value in Report Point Balance.
- Open the
Production Schedule by Line window.
- Populate the window for Production Line 900.
- Open the
Remove Past Due Line Schedule window.
- Select your site and Production Line 900.
- Populate the window for Production Line 900.
- Open the Production Receipts window.
- Select a couple of lines, right-click and then click Move to History.
