Course Description for Complex Assembly MRO

This course introduces you to the IFS/Complex Assembly MRO functionality. This functionality is handled through interim orders and shop orders, which provides work scope definition capability and flexible and powerful and order execution.

This course consists of six main chapters:

Each of these chapters has at least one key lesson, which includes a presentation and possibly exercises. The course should be followed in the sequence of chapters listed below.

The estimated time to complete this course is 146 hours.

Target Audience

This course was designed primarily for configuration managers, engineers and employees who work as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) workers.

Basic Data and Requirements

This chapter gives you an overview of the required data setup for the Complex Assembly MRO course exercises. You will need to have created your own site in the database, into which you will create a new set of data or copy existing records from the main site.

Shop Visit Setup

In this chapter, you will learn how to prepare for a shop visit. This includes transferring VIM template structures to IFS Manufacturing.

The estimated time to complete this chapter is 64 hours.

Target Audience

This chapter was designed primarily for configuration managers and engineers with responsibility to define new structures and maintain existing structures during a product's life cycle.

Shop Visit Planning

In this chapter, you will learn the concepts relating to defining a work scope.

Prerequisites

Before taking the lessons in this chapter, you should have completed the Shop Visit Setup chapter.

Chapter Length

The estimated time to complete this chapter is 16 hours.

Target Audience

This chapter was designed primarily for configuration managers and engineers with responsibility to define new structures and maintain existing structures during a product's life cycle. Maintenance personnel also have to modify/edit serial structures when parts are removed/installed during maintenance. This chapter is also appropriate for MRO workers.

Disassembly and Disposition

Return Object

In this chapter, you will learn how the steps needed to complete the overhaul process. It covers concepts related to shipping back the overhaul object and customer invoicing.
