Basic Data Setup
Create Supplier
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the
basic data required for running this particular functionality.
Windows:
Supplier
- Open the
Supplier window.
- Create C.S.C. Rome as a supplier with supplier number XX1020.

Enter Sites and Inventory Locations
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the
basic data required for running this particular functionality.
Windows:

Sites per User
Inventory Locations
- Open the
Site window.
- Create XXP and XXD as two new sites. (Replace XX with your initials)
- Click the
Sites per User window, and connect the two sites to your user
ID.
- In the
Inventory Locations window, query for the
sites XXP and XXD.
- Enter a picking location (XX-PP1), in the
Inventory
Locations window, on both the XXP and XXD sites.

Enter Inventory, Purchase, Sales Part and Supplier for Purchase Part
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the
basic data required for running this particular functionality.
Windows:
New Part Assistant

Create a new part XX_1001 with an inventory part, purchase
part, sales part and a supplier for purchase part using the
Part wizard,
for site XXP. (Replace XX with your initials)

Create another part XX_1003 with an Inventory part,
purchase part and supplier for purchase part using
Part wizard, for
site XXP. (Replace XX with your initials)

Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to to show you how
to copy part information using the Copy Part Data functionality.
Windows:
Copy Part
- Open Copy Part dialog box.
- Select the part XX_1001 in From Part No field.
- Select the site XXP in the From Site field.
- Enter a new part XX_1002 in the To Part No field. Modify the
description to suit the new part. (Replace XX with your initials)
- Select the site XXP in the To Site field.
- Most of the check boxes under the Enabled column would already have
been selected by default. Clear all of these check boxes, except for those
pertaining to Part catalog, Inventory Part, Purchase Part, Supplier for
Purchase Part and Sales Part information.
- Click OK.
- Query for the new part XX_1002 and find part information in the
Part, Inventory Part,
Purchase Part,
Supplier
for Purchase Part and
Sales Part windows.
- Open Copy Part dialog box.
- Select the part XX_1001 in From Part No field.
- Select the site XXP in the From Site field.
- Enter a new part XX_1001 in the To Part No field. Modify the
description to suit the part at the new site.
- Select the site XXD in the To Site field.
- Most of the check boxes under the Enabled column would already have
been selected by default. Clear all of these check boxes, except for those
pertaining to Inventory Part, Purchase Part, Supplier for Purchase Part and
Sales Part information.
Note: The enabled check box pertaining to Part Catalog
records must not be cleared.
- Click OK.
- Query for the new part XX_1001 and find part information at site XXD, in
the
Inventory Part,
Purchase Part,
Supplier
for Purchase Part and
Sales Part windows.
- Open Copy Part dialog box.
- Select the part XX_1001 in From Part No field.
- Select the site XXP in the From Site field.
- Select the part XX_1003 in in the To Part No field.
- Select the site XXP in the To Site field.
Note: The part XX_1003 does not have a sales part. We will
copy only the sales part information from part XX_1001 to XX_1003.

Most of the check boxes under the Enabled column would
already have been selected by default. Clear all of these check boxes, except
for those pertaining to the sales part information.

Query for XX_1003 and find sales part information in the
Sales
Part window.
