Initial Exercises

Purpose: The purpose of these initial exercise(s) is that the instructor will use them for demonstrating the basic functionality for Material Requisitions, which entails:

These initial exercises are intended for instructor use.

If you are a student, it is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Enter Material Requisition

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the basic functionality for how to enter material requisitions.

Windows:
Material Requisition

Steps: To complete this exercise, perform the following steps.

  1. Select New (F5).
  2. Indicate site 1 in the Site field.
  3. Enter ALAIN as your internal customer number or indicate it by using the List of Values.
  4. Enter Workshop as description in the Internal Destination field.
  5. The due date is automatically set to the date of entry.
  6. Save when completed. Order number and the date of entry is filled in by the system when saving the requisition.
  7. Select the lower part of the window, and then select New (F5).
  8. Indicate part number 88-252 in the Part No column by using the List of Values.
  9. Specify a quantity of 50 in the Qty Due column.
  10. Check that Inventory Order is used as the mode of acquisition in the Supply Code column.
  11. Save your changes and note the order number : _______________.

Reserve Requisition and Print Requisition Pick List

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the basic functionality for how to reserve material requisitions and print requisition pick lists.

Prerequisites: A material requisition must have been created.

Windows:
Material Requisition

Steps: To complete this exercise, perform the following steps.

  1. Query for the material requisition.
  2. Select the requisition line.
  3. Use the Reserve function in the Operations menu.
  4. Select the Pick List for Material Requisition - Printout… function in the Operations menu to print a pick list.

Report Requisition Issue

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you to the basic functionality for how to report a material requisition issue.

Prerequisites: A material requisition must have been created.

Windows:
Material Requisition

Steps: To complete this exercise, perform the following steps.

  1. Populate or query for the appropriate material requisition.
  2. Select the requisition line(s) that you want to issue.
  3. Use the Issue function in the Operations menu.
