Basic Data Setup

Inventory Part with Inventory Balance

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data that is required to use this functionality. In this exercise, an inventory part with an inventory balance will be entered.

  1. Enter an inventory part.
  2. Receive an amount of this inventory part into an inventory location.

Approval Functionality

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the approval functionality.

Sporadic Counting

Purpose: Understand how to perform sporadic inventory counting. One of your warehouse workers has noticed that the location she was to pick from is empty. You have to adjust inventory balance by counting.

Count per Inventory Part
Receive Inventory Part
Inventory Transactions History
Count Result per Inventory Part

Count on Inventory Part

  1. Search for one of your parts in the Count per Inventory Part window. Indicate the new quantity on the location.
  2. Check the Acc Count Difference field. What is displayed in the field?
  3. Try to receive the part in the Receive Inventory Part window.
  4. Analyze one of the parts that was counted in the Inventory Transactions History window. What transaction history is displayed?

Count in Inventory Part with the Approval Functionality

  1. Search for one of your parts in the Count per Inventory Part window. 
  2. Indicate a new quantity on the location that is outside the established control values. What happens? Save your changes.
  3. Open the Count Result per Inventory Part, and approve or cancel the rejected lines.
