Basic Data Setup

Inventory Part with Inventory Balance

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up the basic data required for running this functionality. In this exercise, an inventory part with an inventory balance will be entered.

Windows:
Inventory Part
Receive Inventory Part

1. Enter the following two inventory parts: Part XX62-200, with the description Race Tire Type 1, and Part XX62-201, with the description Race Tire Type 2.
2. Receive a suitable number of these inventory parts into a picking location.

Set up Cyclic Counting

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up a part for cyclic counting.

Windows:
Inventory Part/Misc Part Info

1. Enable cyclic counting for Part XX62-200, with the description Race Tire Type 1.
2. Enter an appropriate counting interval.

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to understand the concept behind cyclic counting and how to perform it.

Performing Cyclic Counting

1. Generate a count report for your inventory parts XX62-200 and XX62-201 using the Create Count Report dialog box. Make sure that the Only Print Parts with Cyclic Counting check box is selected.
2. Open the Count per Count Report window, and retrieve your count report. What has happened? Which part has been included on the count report?
3. Enter the number of parts that were at the inventory locations. Save your changes.
4. Confirm all counted lines.
