Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to enter template parts.

Windows:
Inventory Basic Data/Template Parts

Prerequisites: The part you want to use as a template part record must exist in the Inventory Part window. 
The planning data for the selected inventory parts, entered on the Inventory Part/Planning Data tab, should be the data that you want to use for new parts you create in PDM Configuration.

Enter Template Part

1. Create a new record (F5).
2. In the Site field, use the List of Values to select your site, or enter it directly.
3. In the Part No field, use the List of Values to select the inventory part that you want to use as a template part.
4. Save your changes (F12).
5. If you want to designate one of the parts as the default template part, select the line, right-click, then click Set to Default. The default will be used for all sites.
