Inventory Transaction Reports — Exercise
Basic Data Setup
Enter Inventory Part and Inventory Location
Purpose: The purpose of this
exercise is to show you how to set up the basic data required for running this
functionality.
- Enter the Car Body Race inventory part with Part ID
XX78–461. The part should have an estimated material cost of 20 USD.
- Enter a picking location on your site.

Required Data
Receive Inventory Part
Purpose: The purpose of this
exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below.
- Receive 100 pieces of Part XX78–461 into your picking
inventory location.

Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is
to enter the necessary basic data for creating inventory transaction reports.
Windows:
Inventory Transaction Report Basic Data
- Click the
Report Types tab and select your company

Click
New (F5)
- Enter the name, MY RECEIPT, for your report type in
the Report Type ID field.
- Enter a description for your report type in the
Description field.
- Select the direction + for your report type
- Save the record (F12)
- Click the
Report Group tab and select your company
-
Click New (F5)
- Enter the name, RECEIPT GRP, for your report group in
the Report Group ID field.
- Enter a description for your report group in the
Description
field.
- Select the direction plus (+) for your report group
- Save the record (F12)
- In the table window below click New (F5) and enter
your Report Type, MY RECEIPT, to connect it to your report group
- Click the
Report Type for Transaction Codes tab and select your
company.
- Click New (F5)
- Select the transaction code NREC in the
Transaction Code field.
- Connect the transaction code NREC to your report type
by selecting MY RECEIPT in the Report Type ID
field
- Save the record (F12)
- Click the
Report Type Number Series tab and select your
company.
- Select you report type MY RECEIPT in
the Report
Type field.
- Click
New (F5)
- Select your site in the Site field
- Select your warehouse in the Warehouse
field
Note: Selecting * in the
Warehouse
field indicates that the number series is only valid for inventory reports with
no specific warehouse. Its enough to only enter one number series with * as
warehouse but in this case you will not be able to generate inventory reports
per warehouse.
- Select the system date (today's date) in the Valid From field
- Select 1 in the Start Value field
- Select 100 in the End Value field
- Save the record (F12)
Note: To perform this exercise you need a second
company.
- Open the
Inventory Transaction Report Basic Data
and select your company
- Right-click and then click Copy to Company.
- Select the company to copy the basic data setup to by
selecting your second company in the Copy To Company field.
- Click OK
- The basic data set up from your first company has now
been copied to your second company. Note that only new records are copied,
not changes to existing records. The reason is to avoid changing any
individual set up done by the second company
