Basic Data Setup

Enter Handling Unit Types

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to enter handling unit types that you will later  use to create a packing instruction.

Windows:
Inventory Basic Data/Handling Unit Types

  1. In the Handling Unit Types window, enter XX1 to XX3 as handling units. Instead of XX use your initials.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to enter a packing instruction.

Windows:
Packing Instruction 

Enter a Packing Instruction

  1. Open the Packing Instruction window and create a new record (F5).
  2. In the Packing Instruction ID field, enter T1.
  3. Enter the description TEST1 and save your changes (F12).
  4. Create a new record in the upper part of the table on the General tab.
  5. Enter handling unit type XX1 or search for it using the List of Values.
  6. Enter 1 in the No of Units field.
  7. Save your changes (F12).
  8. Create a new record in the upper part of the table on the General tab.
  9. Enter handling unit type XX2 or search for it using the List of Values.
  10. Enter 2 in the No of Units field.
  11. Connect it to XX1 by entering XX1 in the Parent Node ID field. 
  12. Save your changes (F12).
  13. Create a new record in the upper part of the table on the General tab.
  14. Enter handling unit type XX3 or search for it using the List of Values.
  15. Enter 4 in the No of Units field.
  16. Connect it to XX2 by entering XX2 in the Parent Node ID field or search for it using the List of Values. 
  17. Save your changes (F12).
