Defining Subtasks—Exercises
Basic Data Setup
Exercise Name
Purpose: The purpose of this
exercise is to set up the basic data required for running this particular
functionality.
Windows:

- Open the
Instruction Basic Data
window and click the Competence tab.
- Verify that you have entered the following
competences. If not follow the link to the general exercise and register the
information.
- nXCOMP - My competence
- nXMECH - Mechanics
- nXELEC - Electronics
General exercise for Competence
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson
is to learn how to create a subtask with materials, tools and facilities, zones
and access panels, and sign off requirements.
Windows:

Subtasks
- Open the Subtask window and create
a new record (F5).
- Specify your Part Number and Part Rev.
- In the Subtask ID field, enter a unique
identity for your subtask. Enter an appropriate description in the
Subtask Description field.
- In the Competence field, enter the required
competence. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
- In the No Of Persons field, enter the
number of persons required to perform the subtask.
- In the Hour Cons field, enter the hour
consumption.
- In the Work Description field, enter a
suitable work description.
- Optionally, enter information in the Subtask
and/or Function Breakdown areas.
- Save the record (F12).
- Open the Subtask window and query
(F3) for the your subtask.
- Click the Material List tab and
create a new record (F5).
- Specify the sub part number and sub part revision
of the material. Use the List of Values in the relevant fields to select
valid values. You can also directly select the manufacturer's part number
for the material, thereby retrieving the sub part revision.
- Enter the quantity of material required.
- Save the information (F12).
- Open the Subtasks window and query
(F3) for your subtask.
- Click the Tools and Facilities tab
and create a new record (F5).
- Specify the tool/facility type. Use the List of
Values to select a suitable value.
- Enter the quantity of tools or facilities
required.
- Enter the planned hour consumption.
- Save the record (F12).
- Open the Subtask window and query
(F3) for your subtask.
- Click the Zones tab and create a new
record (F5) in the upper table.
- In the Zone ID field, specify the required
zone. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
- Save the information (F12).
- Select the newly created record, and then click on
the lower table.
- Create a new record (F5).
- In the Access Panel ID field, specify the
access panel for the selected zone. Use the List of Values to select a valid
value.
- Save the information (F12).
- Open the Subtask window and query
(F3) for your subtask.
- Click the Sign Off Req. tab and
create a new record (F5).
- In the Sign Off Requirement Type field,
select the required sign off requirement type.
- If a license is needed, enter this in the
License Name field. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
- If needed, enter an inspection description in the
Inspection Description field.
- Save the record (F12).
