Basic Data Setup

Product Model Access

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to make sure that you have the rights to enter and authorize a fault deferral.

Windows:
Operations and Fault Basic Data

  1. Open the Operations and Fault Basic Data window.
  2. Click the User Auth. Deferrals tab.
  3. Query (F3) for your User ID and verify if you have access to Product Number 7X7 and Model Number X747-900.
  4. If not, enter a row with these data.
  5. Save the information (F12).

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lessons is to learn how to register a fault deferral.

Fault Deferral - 1

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to register a fault deferral code that requires deferral item list. The item to register belongs to a category which says a standard fault deferral of 3 days or 30 Flying Hours. You will also specify the part revision of your aircraft where you will be using this deferral.

Windows:
Deferral Definition

  1. Open the Deferral Definition window.
  2. Create new record (F5) and specify Deferral List Code nDEF - My deferral. Check the Requires List Item Definition check box.
  3. Save the information (F12).
  4. Open the Categories tab and enter your Deferral Category nCAT - My Deferral Category.
  5. Specify Deferral Days 3 and Deferral Value 10 FCYC. 
  6. Save the information (F12).
  7. Open the Items tab and create new record (F5).
  8. Specify Deferral Item Code nITEM - My Deferral Item. Apply Deferral Category Code nCAT as you will use the standard deferral limits set by the category.
  9. Save the information (F12).
  10. Open the Revisions per Item tab and create new record (F5).
  11. Enter your Deferral Item Code and Part Number X747-900, Revision n.
  12. Create one more record and enter your Deferral Item Code and Part Number X32WHE7002, Revison *.
  13. Save the information (F12).
