Apply Cost Type Pricing Definition—Exercises

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to apply the cost type pricing definitions.

Windows:
Complex Assembly Work Order /Sales Lines

Use Cost + Fee

  1. Open the Complex Assembly Service Contract/Cost Types tab and enter a cost in the Sales Value column for the MACHINE cost type.
  2. In the Fee (%) column, enter a 10% fee.
  3. Open the Complex Assembly Work Order/Sales Lines tab, right-click anywhere in the header, and then click Remove all Sales Lines to clear all cost and sales lines.
  4. Right-click anywhere in the header, and then click Apply Agreement to generate cost and sales lines.
  5. Check that the sales price, for the MACHINE sales line, is cost + 10%.

Use Zero Cost

  1. Open the Complex Assembly Service Contract/Cost Types tab and select Zero from the list in the Sales Value column for the CUST MATERIAL cost type.
  2. Open the Complex Assembly Work Order/Sales Lines tab, right-click anywhere in the header, and then click Remove all Sales Lines to clear all cost and sales lines.
  3. Right-click anywhere in the header, and then click Apply Contract to generate cost and sales lines.
  4. Check that the sales price for the CUST MATERIAL sales line is 0.

Use % of List Price

  1. Open the Complex Assembly Service Contract/Cost Types tab and select Zero from the list in the Sales Value column for the CUST MATERIAL cost type.
  2. In the Price List No column, enter a Price List No.
  3. In the Use % of List Price column, enter 50% for the USED MATERIAL cost type.
  4. Open the Complex Assembly Work Order/Sales Lines tab, right-click anywhere in the header, and then click Remove all Sales Lines to clear all cost and sales lines.
  5. Right-click anywhere in the header, and then click Apply Contract to generate cost and sales lines.
  6. Check that the sales price for the USED MATERIAL sales line is 50% of the list price from the price list.
