Basic Data Setup
Creating Linear Asset from Asset Design
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to create a
Linear Asset from Asset Design.
Windows:
Design Object
Design Objects
- Create Design Object and Linear Asset M4EB if you have not already
created it.
General exercise for

Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to change
statuses on a Linear Asset and to learn how to create a new revision.
Windows:
Linear Asset
- Open
Linear Asset
window.

Search for the
Linear Asset ID
M4EB.

Select
the Segments
tab.

Highlight
Segment ID
M4EB-L1 and right mouse click, select
Status
and choose Set In Operation.
This will set the selected segment into In Operation and change the
Operational Status
on the Linear Asset to Partially in Operation.
Note:
Check
the status of Segment ID
M4EB-L2 which is in Planned for Operation.

Set the Linear Asset into
In Operation.
The first step is to set the
Design Status
to Completed. Right mouse click in the header and select
Design Status
and choose Set Completed.
- Next,
right mouse click in the header and select
Operational Status
and choose
Set In Operation.
This status change also affects the
Segment ID
M4EB-L2, from Planned for Operation to In Operation.

Lets add a new
Segment ID
to to the Linear Asset. To be able to do this we need to create a new
revision of Linear Asset M4EB. Right mouse click in the header and select
Design Status
and choose Set ReDesign.
Note:
Observe the
Design Status,
Operational Status,
Revision No
and Revision Status
on the new revision of Linear Asset M4EB. Also have a look at the
Status
on the Segments.

Add
a new Segment with the following data:

- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 5-6.

Select the previous
version of Linear Asset ME4B. Observe the
Design Status,
Operational Status,
Revision No
and Revision Status. Also have a look at the
Status
on the Segments.
