Manage Line Maintenance—Basic Data and Requirements Exercise
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn about the
basic data used when distributing and planning tasks, i.e., those being
generated by task calculation, condition reporting or fault reporting.
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to
register new cancel cause codes.

Operation Basic Data
- Click the Cancel Cause tab and create a new record (F5).
- Enter nMYCAUSE as the cancel cause, where n is your student number.
- Enter
My Cancellation Cause as the cancel cause description.
- Save the
information (F12).
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to
grant
access to use cancellation codes.

- Click the Cancel Cause Access tab.
- Populate (F2) or query
(F3) for your user ID.
- Create a new record (F5) in the table of the
window.
- Enter the cancel cause nMYCAUSE which you created in the previous
exercise.
- Save the information (F12).
- Alternatively, you can assign
all existing cancel causes to your user by right-clicking on the tab, and
then clicking Assign All Causes.
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to
register a department.
Windows:

- Click the Department tab.
- Populate (F2) or query (F3) for
your workshop code nLAX-C.
- Verify that the departments for Avionics and
Mechanics are already defined.
- Create a new record (F5) in the table of
the window.
- Register a department to take care of engine testing. Enter
nENGTEST as the department code.
- Enter a description of this department.
- Save the information (F12).
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to
define the workshops to which you are allowed to distribute maintenance tasks.
Windows:

- Click the Workshop Access tab.
- Populate (F2) or query
(F3) for your user ID.
- Verify that you are allowed to distribute tasks to
the workshop nLAX-C.
- Create a new record (F5) in the table of the window.
- For your user, give access to the nLAX-L workshop.
- Save the information
(F12).
- Alternatively, you can assign all existing workshops to your user
by right-clicking on the tab, and then clicking Assign All Workshops.
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson
is to learn how to register the sign off requirements that are to be used on
maintenance orders. These sign off requirements are defined per product model.
Windows:
Maintenance Task Basic Data
- Click the Sign Off Req. per Product Model
tab.
- Populate (F2) or query (F3) for the
necessary product and model.
- Create a new
record (F5) in the table of the window.
- Specify the sign off requirement type. Valid values are
Release to
Service and Counter Release to Service.
- If needed, specify a license for the person signing
off the maintenance order connected to this product model. Use the List of
Values to select a valid value.
- In the Sign Off Description field, enter a description of the work to be done
prior to signing off. You do not have to enter a value in this field.
- Save the information (F12).
