This course covers the functionality of IFS/Human Resources Planning, showing you how to define the competencies within an organization, define the job descriptions and specifications, how to develop action plans to fulfill the organizations requirements, and finally how to perform an aggregate gap analysis.

The estimated time to complete the Intermediate course is 5 hours and 45 minutes (this includes the Basic Data and Requirements (BDR) lesson).
This course is designed primarily for Strategic HR Assistants.
This chapter contains four lessons—two key lessons, Defining Organization Competencies and Defining Jobs, and two extended lesson, Developing Action Plans and Performing Aggregate Gap Analysis.
The first lesson, Defining Organization Competencies, outlines how to:
- Build a competency structure with competency groups, elements, and levels.
- Distribute competencies to different companies.
The second lesson, Defining Jobs, describes how to:
- Define jobs by entering specific tasks, responsibilities and duties, level of authority, and other requirements associated with a specific job.
- Enter job specifications in terms of the skills and qualifications required for a specific job.
The third lesson, Developing Action Plans, addresses the types of plans that need to be part of the HR planning process:
- Recruitment plan
- Personnel development plan
The last lesson, Performing Aggregate Gap Analysis, describes how to:
- Perform an aggregate gap analysis to view a specific group's collective competency.
- Compare two or more employees using the Employees Competency Comparison window.
Note: The HR Planning functionality supports recruitment plans and personnel development plans. Other plans have to be created and maintained by other means.
