IFS Personal Portal - An Overview—Exercise

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to help you become familiar with the portal and its different parts.

Exercise Name

1. Log on to the application using your account. Use the URL to your application base to access the portal and the logon dialog. The URL should be typed into the Address/URL field in your web browser.
2. Explore the header banner, use the banner text to find out who you are logged on as.
3. Investigate the portlets. Notice how each portlet box contains a small set of information specific for that portlet.
4. Log out. Click Options  in the Navigation toolbar, then click Log Off.

Note: Depending on how your web server has been set up, the logon dialog may appear in different formats. If you are using Internet Explorer, the web server may have been set up to log you on automatically. In this case, there is no need to log on or log off.
