Purpose: The purpose of these initial exercises is for the instructor to demonstrate the basic functionality in Internal Elimination, which entails:

View a Created Internal Elimination Structure

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show an already defined structure.

Windows:
GL Structure Balance Analysis

Steps: To complete this exercise, perform the following steps.

  1. Open the window. Populate and select the ELIM structure.
  2. Go to the View Structure tab. 
  3. Double-click the TOP node to see the structure.

Create and Analyze Internal Transactions

Purpose:  The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to create a manual voucher with internal transactions, i.e., purchases between cost centers. When the voucher is updated to the general ledger, the revenue transactions will be designated with an internal elimination code according to the structure that has been defined. Verify that the transactions have been designated with an elimination code according to your structure.

Steps: To complete this exercise, perform the following steps.

  1. Open Voucher Entry and enter a manual voucher with the information in the table below.

  1. Save the voucher, and note the voucher number.
  2. Right-click and then click Instant Update General Ledger.
  3. Open GL Voucher Rows Analysis and query for the voucher that you just created.
  4. Note whether the elimination code is set in the Elim Code code part according to your structure.
