Course Description for Execute Work Scope

This course introduces you to the IFS/Complex Assembly MRO execution functionality. This functionality is handled through interim orders and shop orders, which provides flexible and powerful order execution capability.

This course consists of four main chapters:

• Introduction
• Initial Exercises
• Handling Order Structure
• Performing MRO Manufacturing

Each of these chapters has at least one key lesson, which includes a presentation and possibly exercises. Most chapters also contain an introductory lesson. The course should be followed in the sequence of chapters listed below.

Course Length

The estimated time to complete this course is 75 hours.

Target Audience

This course was designed primarily for employees who work as maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) workers.

Introduction

This chapter gives you an overview of the required data setup for the Execute Work Scope course exercises. You will need to have created your own site in the database, into which you will create a new set of data or copy existing records from the main site.

This chapter was designed primarily for MRO workers.

Initial Exercises

In this chapter, you will learn the key concepts relating to:

• What the main tasks in executing an MRO work scope are.
• Evaluating the results of each task execution.

Prerequisites 

You should have completed the Introduction chapter before going through this chapter.

Handling Order Structure

In this chapter, you will learn key concepts relating to:

• Working with an MRO order structure created by releasing a work scope definition.
• The different elements of an MRO order structure such as disassembly, disposition, repair and assembly orders.
• Releasing sections of the order structure to shop orders.
• Propagating dates up and down the order structure.
• Generating alarms based on interim order start and supply dates.
• Calculating interim order costs based on shop order operations reporting.
• Viewing order structure history based on cancellations.

You should have completed the Initial Exercises chapter before going through this chapter.

Performing MRO Manufacturing

In this chapter, you will learn key concepts relating to:

• Executing disassembly shop orders, and dealing with unexpected part found cases.
• Executing disposition shop orders, and dealing with different disposition scenarios.
• Executing repair shop orders.
• Executing assembly shop orders.

Prerequisites 

You should have completed the Handling Order Structure chapter before going through this chapter.
