Required Data

Exercise Name

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the required data that is used in the exercises below.

  1. Open the Employee window.
  2. Select the employees listed in the table below. Ensure that these employees have the details entered as given in the table.

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show how seniority setup is created in order to measure the seniority of employees.

Create Seniority Setup

Perform the following exercise to create a seniority setup which can measure seniority of employees based on the employment information.

  1. Open the Seniority Setup window.
  2. Create a new record and enter SETUP1 as the seniority ID and 'Employment Details' as the description.
  3. Go to the Employment Type tab and create a new record.
  4. Enter Full Time in the Employment Type field. Select value from list.
  5. Save the information.
     
  6. Go to the Position tab and create a new record.
  7. Enter DEV in the Position ID field. Create another record and enter DESIGN as the position ID.
  8. Save the information.

Perform the following exercise to create a seniority setup which can measure seniority of employees based on the absence registered by employees.

  1. Open the Seniority Setup window.
  2. Create a new record and enter SETUP2 as the seniority ID and 'Work Experience' as the description.
  3. Go to the Work Exp Break tab and create a new record.
  4. Enter Plus as the arithmetical sign in the relevant field.
  5. Enter Military Service as the work break type in the relevant field.
  6. Create another record. Enter Minus as the arithmetical sign and Parental Leave as the work break type in the relevant fields.
  7. Save the information.

View Calculated Seniority of Employees

  1. Open the Seniority window.
  2. Populate or query to select an employee in the Employee ID field.
  3. Select the system date in the Date field.
  4. In the table of the window see how the seniority is calculated for the employee according to each seniority setup.
  5. Select employees 1004, 1002, 1036 and 1012 to compare how the seniority changes based on the employees employment type, work experience breaks etc.
