Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show how to create employee selection templates.

Create Employee Selection Templates

  1. Open the Employee Selection Templates window.
  2. Create a new record and enter PAYRL as the template ID in the Template ID field.
  3. Enter 'Employee Selection for Payrol' as the description in the Description field.
  4. Enter a relevant remark n the Remark field so that the purpose of the template is described in brief. This template is used to select employees for a particular payrol category.
  5. Save the template.

Define Selection Criteria

Perform the following exercise to define selection criteria to find employees based on the criteria described in the table below. The information specified as criteria in the first column of the table is valid for the period specified in the second column.

Criteria for Employee Selection Valid Period
Employees should be assigned to wage classes 10 or 11 01/01/2008 - 12/31/2010
Employees should be assigned to selection group 10 01/01/2008 - 12/31/2010
Employee should be assigned to any organization in the company other than organization B-CS 01/01/2008 - 12/31/2010
  1. Open the Employee Selection Templates window and select the template PAYRL you created in the previous exercise.
  2. Right click and click Details to open the Employee Selection Template window and click Categories tab.
  3. Wage Class tab. Right click in the table and click Show All. All the wage classes in the company will display.
  4. Select the Include check box for wage classes 10 and 11.
  5. In the header of the tab, select the Is Used check box so that the wage class selection is active for the template.
  6. Selection Group tab. Right click in the table and click Show All to view all the selection groups defined in the company.
  7. Select the Include check box for selection group 10.
  8. In the header of the tab, select the Is Used check box so that the selection group you included is active for the template.
  9. Organization tab. Right click in the table and Click Show All to view all the organization codes defined in the company.
  10. Select the Include check box for the organization code B-CS.
  11. In the header of the tab, select the Inversion check box to ensure that all organizations other than the organization B-CS will be included as criteria for the template.
  12. In the header of the tab, select the Is Used check box so that the organizations you included are active for the template.
  13. Save the information.

Preview Employee Selection

  1. Open the Employee Selection Templates window.
  2. Select the template PAYRL, right click and click Details to open the Employee Selection Template window. You have already defined the selection criteria for the template in the previous exercise.
  3. Preview tab.
  4. Click Generate Preview Results to open the Employee Template Preview Dates dialog box.
  5. Specify the period from 01/01/2009 to 12/31/2009.
  6. Click OK. The employees who match the criteria specified in the template will be listed in the table of the tab.
  7. Click Generate Preview Results again to open the Employee Template Preview Dates dialog box and change the date period. Enter 01/01/2009 in the Valid From field and leave the Valid To field empty.
  8. Click OK to see how the employee list change.
