Initial Exercises

Purpose:   The purpose of this exercise is to load the AutoCAD Adapters and log on to IFS Applications through AutoCAD       

Loading the AutoCAD Adapters

 

Prerequisites: 

Windows:
NA

  1. Open the AutoCAD application.
  2. Open an existing drawing or create a new drawing.
  3. Choose the Load Application option from Tools menu.
  4. In the Load/Unload Applications form, browse to the folder where the IFS AutoCAD Adapter (or the IFS Project AutoCAD Adapter) .dvb-file is located.

Note: IFS AutoCAD Adapter is for the PDM Configuration module and IFS Project AutoCAD Adapter is for the Project Delivery module.

  1. Select the file and click Load (verify that the file is successfully loaded).
  2. Browse to the IFS AutoCAD Adapter file in the Load Applications form.
  3. Click Load to load the application.
  4. Choose the Macro option from Tools menu or else use the short cut menu Alt + F8.
  5. In the Macros form select the <<PathToYourInstalledDvbFile>>!.AdapterMenu.IFSAdapterMenus macro and click Run.
  6. Select the macro and click Run to start it.

Note: To verify that the macro is running simply check that the IFS Applications menu has been added to the menu line in AutoCAD.

  1. Choose the Logon option from IFS Applications menu.
  2. Enter logon credentials.

Note: Enter user name, password and which server/port to connect to, these settings should be provided by your systems administrator. Verify that you are successfully logged on by looking at the IFS Applications menu. All menu choices should now be enabled.
