Grouping Parts—Exercises

It is extremely important that you set up
and work within your own Server ID in order to maintain your data
integrity. If you work within any other server id, you will compromise your
exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise
results require that your data be isolated to your own server id. |
Basic Data Setup
Defining Schedule
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to
set
up a schedule for the different steps in the forecast cycle.
Windows:
Demand Plan Server Setup/Scheduling
Forecast Server
- Set up a schedule for your server ID.
- Start the Demand Planning Server.
General exercise for Defining

Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to select the flow
and view forecast parts
Windows:
Forecast Client
- On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, point to Programs,
and then click Forecast Client.
- In the Flow ID list, select one of your flows.
- On the Part menu, click Group to group all parts in the
flow.
- In the Planner Buyer list, select a planner/buyer.
- In the Part No list, note that some parts are
marked with blue. These are the parts that fit your current group selection.
You can also view the number of parts in the current group in the Parts
in Group field below the forecast graph.
- Add another group object to the planner/buyer, e.g., by selecting an ABC
class in the ABC
Class list. All active group objects can be used
at the same time, in any combination. They can also be combined with
part selections, e.g., Sort By and Classification.
