Required Data

Exercise Name

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to define a business object to which the task activity automatically can be handed over to, either on task creation or as soon as the case is created with a pre-selected task.

  1. Create a business object of the business object type Work Order.
  2. Make sure you enter a value in the Handover LOV Order field.

Main Exercise

Define Task Type

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to define a task type.

Windows:
Task Basic Data/Task Type

  1. Open the Task Basic Data window. The Task Type tab is automatically selected.
  2. Enter the values shown in the table below. Create each new record by clicking on F5 or the New icon.

  1. Save the record.(F12)

Define Task Activities

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to define a set of activities for a task.

Windows:
Task Basic Data/Task Activity

  1. Open the Task Basic Data window. 
  2. Click the Task Activity tab.
  3. Enter the values shown in the table below. Create each new record by clicking on F5 or the New icon.
Activity Description Task Type
Request Information Send Request and Await Information 1st Line
Verify Information Update and Verify Case Information such as Description and Test Plan 1st Line
Search for Solution Search for a possible solution to the case 2nd Line
  1. Enter suitable comments in the Comments fields.
  2. Enter 1, 2 and 3 in the LOV Order fields respectively.
  3. Select the Pre Selected and Dispatch check boxes for all three records.
  4. Select Work Order in the Handover Business Object field, This will cause the handover dialog to be launched every time a task is created by an assignee user.

  5. Select the Open on New Cases check box. This will cause the handover dialog to be launched for pre-selected tasks already when the case is created by an assignee user.

  6. Enter 2, 2 and 5 in the Work Days fields of the 3 records and 4, 4 and 10 in the Work Hours fields respectively.

  7. Select Today in the Calculate Date field for all three records.
  8. Save the records. (F12)

Define Task Template

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up a task template

Windows:
Task Basic Data/Task Template

  1. Open the Task Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Task Template tab.
  3. Click F5 or the New icon to create a new record.
  4. Enter Minor Error in the Template Name field.
  5. Enter Gathering Information about a Minor Error in the Description field.
  6. Save the record (F12)
  7. Enter the values in the table below. Select a row on the table and double click on it to create a new record. Use the List of Values to select values for the Activity Name field.

  1. Save the record (F12)

Define Task Completion

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to set up a task completion code that can be used when ending a task.

Windows:
Task Basic Data/Task Completion

  1. Open the Task Basic Data window.
  2. Click the Task Completion tab.
  3. Click F5 or the New icon to create a new record.
  4. Enter Tested in the Completion field.
  5. Enter This task has been completed and tested, in the Description field.
  6. Select the Default Value check box.
  7. Enter 1 in the LOV Order field.
  8. Save the record. (F12)
