Setting Up Output Types and Phrases—Exercises

IMPORTANT
It is extremely important that you set up and work within your own site to maintain your data integrity. If you work within any other site, you will compromise your own exercise data as well as the data of other students. Predictable exercise results require that your data be isolated in your own site.

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to understand how to use output types and phrases.

Creating Output Types

  1. Open the Document Text Administration/Output Types window.
  2. Create a new output type and enter XX-OUTP as the output type, where XX stands for your initials. Specify XX Purchasing as the output type description.
  3. In the Document column, select the documents to connect to documents 6 and 8 from the List of Values.
  4. Save the changes.

Creating Phrases

  1. Open the Document Text Administration/Phrases window.
  2. Create a new standard phrase and enter XX-PURCH as the phrase, where XX stands for your initials. Enter XX Purchasing as the description.
  3. Enter a phrase of your choice and select English and one more language from the List of Values. 
  4. Save the changes.
