Run Commonality Costing

  1. Calculate the part cost for the site or the appropriate parts.
  2. View commonality costing. By doing this, you can learn about part sharing between a product family and product code. Manufactured parts and purchased parts show both common and unique costs. You can also see how many parts within the structure are common and unique. The parent part is also included.
  3. View the commonality costing product family. Take a closer look at the product family to see whether a part carries common or unique costs, or has manufactured or purchased part costs.
  4. View the commonality costing product code. Take a closer look at the product code to see whether a part carries common or unique costs, or has manufactured or purchased part costs.

Note: The result helps you to understand whether there are parts or components that are shared between or within different product families or codes.
