Signing Off Tasks and Maintenance Order—Exercises

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to learn how to sign off a maintenance order and its tasks.

Sign Off the Task

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to sign off a task once the work on the task is completed. This sign off is usually done by an Inspector of the work.

Maintenance Order/Included Tasks

  1. Open the Maintenance Order window and query (F3) for your order number.
  2. Click the Maint. Order Str. tab.
  3. In the graphical object structure, locate the task for which sign off is to be performed.
  4. Right-click on the record, and then click Perform Sign Off.  

Verify Sign Off of the Task - 1

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to verify the sign off a task, thereby further validating the work that has been done.

  1. Open the Maintenance Order window and query (F3) for your order number.
  2. Click the Maint. Order Str. tab.
  3. In the graphical object structure, locate the task for which sign off is to be verified.
  4. Right-click on the record, and then click Verify Sign Off.

Verify Sign Off of the Task - 2

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to verify the sign off the task that was previously signed off in the Sign Off the Task exercise. Before starting this exercise, it is recommended you refer the rules for sign off as described in the Signing Off Tasks and Maintenance Order lesson.

  1. Open the Maintenance Order window and query (F3) for your order number.
  2. Click the Maint. Order Str. tab.
  3. In the graphical object structure, locate the task for which sign off is to be verified.
  4. Right-click on the record, and then click Verify Sign Off.

Was it possible to run this exercise? Since two different persons are required to sign off a task having both inspector and counter inspector sign off requirement types, you need to log into the application using another ID in order to complete the exercise.

Sign Off the Maintenance Order

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to sign off a maintenance order once the work on the corresponding maintenance visit is completed.

Windows:
Maintenance Order

  1. Open the Maintenance Order window and query (F3) for your order number.
  2. Right-click and click Release to Service.  

Verify Sign Off of the Maintenance Order

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to verify the sign off on a maintenance order, thereby further validating the work that has been done.

Windows:
Maintenance Order

  1. Open the Maintenance Order window and query (F3) for your order number.
  2. Right-click and click Verify Release to Service.

Note: If both the release to service and counter release to service requirements types are defined for a maintenance order, two different persons are required to perform the sign off.
