Below is a list of tips and tricks for the Dispatch Asset and Close Maintenance Visit course. Click one of the items below to see information that may be helpful to you as you take the course. The standard racing database is defined to be reused at any point of time.
In the exercises you will see that most of the data are specified with prefix
"n", "X" or a combination of these.
Examples: nX747-900 (Part Number), X10000 (Serial Number) and nAC (Maintenance
Group).
The use of prefixes
has several advantages:
- the "n" is used to identify data that belongs to student number
"n"
- the "X" makes it easy to query on the data you are using in the VIM
exercises (including predefined data)
- a query like "3X%" will normally fetch data that belongs to student no
3.
- exercise text can be more specific when referring to data elements
- the students does not have to create their own identifiers.
Data Specification | Teacher | Student no. "n" |
