Purpose: The purpose of these exercises is for the instructor to demonstrate the basic functionality in Budgeting, which entails:

Enter Annual Budget

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to enter budget values for a year using several parts of the chart of accounts and an allocation key.

Windows:
Budget Year Amount

  1. Query for Budget 2000 D1.
  2. Add new budget rows using the information in the table below.

4700 –8700  
4900 –2000 11
  1. Save your changes.
  2. Right-click and then click Allocate All Year Values. The value type for all rows changes to Allocated. The amounts are distributed evenly (1/12 for each period).

Search and Analyze the Period Values

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to verify your allocated annual amounts in the different periods.

Windows:
Budget Period Amount

  1. Query for Budget Version 2000 D1.
  2. Several lines are displayed on the screen. These lines are ordered by account and then by period, starting with Account 4700 and Period 1.
