Entering benefit plan providers

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show you how to enter benefit plan providers.

Windows:
Supplier
Benefit Providers

  1. Open the Supplier window.

  2. Enter a Supplier ID and Name, which is the minimum required information.

  3. Or, open the Benefit Providers window.

  4. And use the zoom function from the Provider ID field.

 

Entering benefit plan categories

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to enter the benefit plan category. 

Windows:
Benefit Plan Categories

  1. Open the Benefit Plan Categories window.
  2. Enter a few categories, e.g., Medical, Vision, Dental, etc.
  3. Open the Benefit Plan window and use the LOV for the Benefit Category field.
  4. In the Benefit Plan Categories window, set a category to obsolete by selecting the Obsolete checkbox.
  5. Go back to the Benefit Plan window and use the LOV again.

 

Entering benefit plan option lists 

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to define the option lists used for various kinds of benefits.

Windows:
Benefit Option List

  1. Open the Benefit Option List window.
  2. Enter a new option list together with a description, e.g., "Standard" and "Standard options".
  3. Enter a couple of option items, e.g., "Employee only", "Employee + spouse", "Employee + children", "Family", and "Waiver".
  4. For each option item, select the Involves Dependent checkbox as appropriate.
  5. For each option item, select one of the predefined Paycheck Effect values from the list box.

 

Entering qualifying events 

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you how to enter the qualifying events used in the benefit plan self-service functionality.  

Windows:
Qualifying Events

  1. Open the Qualifying Events window.
  2. Populate the window and check for any predefined information.
  3. If appropriate, enter your own qualifying events.
  4. You may set your own defined events to obsolete by selecting the check box. This will remove the event from any List of Values window.
