Count Absences and Generate Actions — Exercises

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to understand how
actions are generated for employee absences.

- Open the Absence Actions window.
- Create new records and define the absence actions detailed below.

- Save the information.
Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to show you the
required data that is used in the exercises below.
- Open the Absence Configuration window.
- Ensure that the absence group SICK is connected to function RYEAR with
the following parameter setting.:

One occurrence of absence required in order to generate action.
The following action should be generated: DOC (Submit Medical Report). |

Absence occurrences should be calculated for last 1 month.
3 occurrences of absence required in order to generate action.
The following action should be generated: INS (Inform Insurance Provider). |
- Ensure that an absence type (e.g. 1025) is created for this absence
group.
- Now, select another absence type and connected it to function
T-ACTION.
- Give the required values for each parameter in the function.
- Save the information.
- Open the Absence window and select your employee.
- Go to the Absence Registration tab and create a new record.
Note that a unique ID is automatically generated for the record in the Absence
ID field.
- Enter 1025 in the Absence Type field.
- Register absence for a period of 5 days using the Absence Date From
and Absence Date To fields.
- Save the record.
- Go to the Absence Action tab. See that the action
'Doc - Submit Medical
Report' has been generated.
- Now, go back to the Absence Registration tab and create new absence
records using the same absence type as detailed in the table below. Go to
the Absence Action tab after each registration and see how actions are
generated as given in the table.
Note: The absences detailed below should be registered within 2
consecutive months.

- Now, go to the Absence Registration
tab again and create a new absence record using the absence type which you
connected to the T-ACTION function.
- In the Absence Action
tab, see how the actions are generated according to the parameters you
configured for the absence type.
- Open the Absence window and select your employee.
- Go to the Absence Action tab and create a new record.
- Enter an action ID using the list of values.
- Enter the generation date and due date in the relevant fields.
- Save the information.
