Usage

Use this dialog box to manually assign employees and/or teams as suggestions to shop order operations. Employees and/or teams can be assigned to perform runtime and/or setup work. Employees/teams assigned to an operation is just a suggestion of who to perform the work and it is not a mandatory parameter. Therefore it is possible for other employees/teams than the assignees to report time on the operation without any restrictions.

The appearance of the Assign Employee/Team To Operation dialog box differs depending on selecting just one operation or selecting multiple operations in the operation table. This dialog box can be used to assign employee(s) and/or team(s) to a single or multiple operations. It will show some of the important operational parameters when working with a single operation. It is also possible to check the competency of the assigned employee together with the operation when the assignment is for a single operation.

There are two check boxes in the list of values dialog box (Assigned To Run and Assigned to Setup) which filters out all the employees with matching competencies. Competencies will be matched with the employee competency profile defined for the setup and the runtime work which can be assigned to that particular employee. These check boxes are very useful when it is a fixed requirement that an employee with a matching competency should perform the setup and/or runtime work.

For example, for the process of welding a pressure vessel, the welding task should be performed by a person who has an accurate license to get it approved. Therefore it is needed that the employee’s competencies must match the competency profile defined for the operation work related to the process of welding.

This dialog box also allows to change some operational parameters like setup, run times and crew size because these operational parameters may need to be updated with the availability of employees at the time of the assignment.
