Enter Equipment Code

Explanation

Use this activity to enter equipment codes for products and models. Equipment codes are used for registering additional equipment that is associated with a serial part but is not  part of the structure. Equipment assigned to serials can be used when performing an operational task.

Prerequisites

Products and models must exist.

System Effects

Additional equipment can be connected to a serial without being part of the structure.

Procedure

1. Open the Serial Basic Data window and click the Equipment Code tab.
2. Create a new record (F5).
3. In the Product Number field, query for a valid product by using the List of Values.
4. In the Model Number field, query for a connected model by using the List of Values. The model's description is retrieved automatically.
5. In the Equipment Code field, enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the short code that is used in the system. Once saved, the field cannot be modified.
6. In the Description field, enter or edit the description for the equipment code.
7. Save the record (F12).
