Enter Sales Groups
Explanation
Use this activity to enter a logical group for the
sales parts. Each sales part must be connected to a sales group. The sales groups are used for
statistical purposes, such as queries and reports. They are also used when defining
discounts on the customer agreement. It is possible to
define if delivery confirmation should be used or not on part level.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- A sales group is defined.
- The sales group is available from the List of Values in other windows, e.g.,
Sales
Part.
- The sales group is also available in Posting Controls as a Control Type (C79) for grouping financial data.
- Sales groups can be used to sort sales parts, and in standard queries for
sales statistics.
- The sales group can be used in discount calculations.
- If the value of the Delivery Confirmation
list selected is Delivery Confirmation Optional, delivery confirmation will
be dependent on the setting on the customer order. If the value of the Delivery
Confirmation list selected is Delivery Confirmation Required, parts will
require delivery confirmation. If the value of the Delivery Confirmation
list selected is Delivery Confirmation Not Allowed, parts should not be
delivery confirmed.

Procedure
- Open the Sales Basic Data window.
- Click the
Sales Groups tab, then select New.
- Using up to 10 alphanumeric characters, enter the code for the sales group in the
Sales Group field.
- Enter the description of the sales group in the Description column.
- The value of the Delivery
Confirmation list is Delivery Confirmation Optional by default. Use this
value or select another value from this list.
- Save the record.
