Create Pegging of Customer Order Line

Explanation

This activity is used to connect existing supplies to demands. The system will retrieve the available purchase order lines or shop order lines and display them in the corresponding tab window. You can view what is available and decide which lines to connect. The connection is made to automatically allocate supplies to the pegged demands when supplies are received.

This activity can also be used to modify existing peggings. You can increase or decrease pegged quantities. A pegging may be removed. Reducing the pegged quantity to zero will remove the pegging. Validations are made so that the modifications cannot interfere with existing peggings. You can check existing peggings in the Pegged Purchased Customer Order Lines and Pegged Manufactured Customer Order Lines windows.

Note that it is not possible to manually peg customer order lines, if parts belong to project inventory. Also note that pegging for customer rental order lines can only be done to purchase rental order lines.

Prerequisites

• At least one un-pegged customer order line and one free purchase order line or shop order for the same inventory part, site, condition code, ownership, owner and Configuration ID must exist. To peg rental order lines, at least one free purchase order line should exist.
• The supply code on the customer order line  must be Inventory Order.
• The customer order line must not be in status Canceled, Delivered or Invoiced/Closed.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, pegging references are created. Pegged quantities are updated on the customer order line and the corresponding purchase order lines or shop orders. A new customer order line history record is generated when you save the information.

Procedure

The Manual Pegging of CO Lines window can be opened directly from the navigator. It can also be opened from the Customer Order/Order Lines, Customer Order Lines, Pegged Manufactured Customer Order Lines or Pegged Purchased Customer Order Lines windows by selecting the appropriate customer order line, right-clicking and then clicking Manual Pegging.

To create peggings of purchase order lines:

1. Select the Purch Order tab to find purchase order lines that are available to create peggings for the customer order line.
2. Enter the quantity you want to peg in the Quantity Pegged field on the desired purchase order line. You can specify the amount to be pegged as long as the quantity is positive and less than the quantity available to be pegged.
3. Save.

To create peggings of shop order lines:

1. Choose the Shop Order tab to find shop order lines that are available to peg to the customer order line.
2. Enter the quantity you want to peg in the Quantity Pegged field on the desired shop order line. You can specify the amount to be pegged as long as the quantity is positive and less than the quantity available to be pegged.
3. Save.
