Edit Control Plan

Explanation

Use this activity to edit the control plan lines displayed in the Shop Order window. This optional task is to be performed by production engineers or production planners.

This activity contains a Security Checkpoint which can be activated by an administrator. With an activated security checkpoint on a function you will have to authenticate yourself again in order to fulfill the function. Additionally, whenever a security checkpoint is successfully passed a security checkpoint log is written, creating an audit trail of what is done.

Prerequisites

A Control Plan for Manufacturing in Active status must exist for the part or shop order.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the control plan used for a specific shop order can be modified.

If a control plan is modified, the Modified By and the Modified Date fields will display the name of the user who modified the record and the date on which it was performed respectively.

Procedure

  1. Open the Shop Order window.
  2. In the Part No field, query for the part number for which you want to edit the control plan lines, or select a part number from the List of Values.
  3. Click the Control Plan tab.
  4. If you want to add new control plan lines, select New and enter new data points.
  5. If you want to include data points when creating an analysis, select the Included check box. 
  6. Save the changes.
  7. In the header section of the Control Plan tab, right-click and click Approve Modifications.
  8. Under Control Plan Attributes, the value in the Modification Status field will be changed to Approved.
  9. The values in the Approved By and Approval Date fields will appear automatically.
  10. If you want to add additional information, in the header section of the Control Plan tab, right-click and click Notes.  
  11. Include the information in the text editor. The Note Text check box will be selected.
  12. To undo all the modifications, in the header section of the Control Plan tab, right-click and click Revert to Original.
  13. The Modified check box will be cleared, and the Modification Status, Approved By, and the Approval Date fields will be Null.
