Copy Activity
Explanation
There are two ways to add activities to a subproject. You can create them
new or copy an existing activity.
During copying if an existing activity is selected, this activity is given as the activity to copy. If a
subproject is selected, this subproject is given
as the subproject to which the new activity will belong.
Prerequisites
A subproject exists with activities that you can copy.
System Effects
- A new activity is created in the selected subproject.
- Activity details are copied from the selected activity, as well as
activity classes, connected tasks, misc. demands, resources and valid report codes.

Procedure
From the Activity, Activities
or Project Navigator window:
- Open the Activity or
Activities window and query for the required
activity you wish to copy. When using the Project
Navigator query for the project and navigate to the activity in the
graphical structure.
- Right-click and select the Copy Activity menu option which will
open the Copy Activity dialog box.
- In the Copy From area:
- The selected activity will be given as the activity to copy from.
- In the Copy To area:
- Enter the ID of the subproject to which you wish to add the new activity. Use
the List of Values to select from the existing subprojects.
- You can change the activity ID and description if needed.
- Click OK to save.
From the Sub Projects or Project Navigator
window.
- Open the Sub Projects window and
query for the required subproject. When using the
Project Navigator query for the project and navigate to the
subproject in the graphical structure.
- Right-click and select the Copy Activity menu option which will open the Copy Activity dialog box.
- In the Copy From area:
- Enter the activity sequence of the activity you wish to copy from. Use the List of Values to select from
the existing activities that belong to the project.
- In the Copy To area:
- The selected subproject will be given as the subproject to
which the new activity will belong.
- Enter a new activity ID and description for the new activity.
- Click OK to save.
