Connect Operations to Tasks
Explanation
This activity is used to connect operations to the tasks on a maintenance
order. This is done when there exists a task without any predefined operations.
It can also be done when you want to connect additional operations to a task.
When a maintenance order is set to the Under
Preparation status, predefined active operations (instructions and subtasks)
will be connected to all assigned tasks, and the tasks will be set to the
Under Preparation status. However, if predefined operations do not exist for
one or more tasks, the task will be set to the Incomplete status instead. At such instances you need to manually connect
operations to these tasks
before the tasks can be set to the Under Preparation status.
All connected tasks must be in the Under Preparation status before the
maintenance order can be released.
Prerequisites
To perform this activity, instructions must exist for
the part revision of the serial defined on the task(s) without operations. The
task to which the operation is to be connected cannot be
in either the Work Done or Finished status.
System Effects
- Instructions and connected subtasks will be
defined for the selected task.
- If operations are added to a fault task on a
maintenance order, the operations will be added automatically to the
operation list of the fault.
If the distribution type defined on the maintenance order is Execution Logic
Structure,
- and the operation is added to a task in
the Under Preparation, Released or Started status, this
operation and connected subtasks will be mapped automatically into the
correct Execution Logic Orders (ELOs) in the Execution Logic Structure (ELS)
which is defined for the maintenance order. If the operation does not fit
any of the defined ELOs, it will be moved into the Ungrouped Operations node.
- and the operation is added to a task that is in
either the Released or Started status, the operation will also
be mapped to the correct ELO work order in IFS/Work Order Management.
