Retrieve Production Line Demands
Explanation
This activity is used to retrieve the demands for a part line, that will be used for tack time calculations. You can retrieve the demands
using one or more of the following demand sources, based
on the input demand selection date range. The options are:
- Customer
Order: Released customer orders that are not picked or shipped as yet.
- Customer Schedule: Planned demand schedule
data for released schedules.
- Production Schedule (component demands): Component
quantities required from production schedules that are not received.
- MS/MRP:
Master Schedule Level 1 and MRP planned receipts.
Note: You cannot choose MS/MRP along with any other sources, as the MS/MRP snapshot typically includes these demands
already.
Prerequisites
- A production line with
associated parts must have been defined.
- Demand records of some source type
must exist to retrieve the demand successfully.
System Effects
- Production line demands will be retrieved for the specified
sources and date range, and stored in a snapshot table for the line.
- Any existing
snapshot demands for that date range and source type will be deleted and replaced by
this set of demands.
- Full pegging information for the retrieved demands
will be identified in the stored records.
- You can enter demand records manually.
Manually entered demands will be identified with a separate pegging type and no
order information (Manual source type).
