Release Balance ID

Explanation

Use this activity to release the selected requisition and all other requisitions with the same balance ID. This means that all balance IDs related to either child or parent are released.

Note: If multiple levels are released, there is no assurance that all levels have been planned.

The APB or CBS clients group the shop orders created after releasing the balance ids' under one balance id object inside CBS and APB itself. This helps the planner to schedule shop orders belong to one balance id, as a group of shop orders.

Shop orders under one balance id do maintain their preceding and succeeding relationships based on the header requisition number that are there in each requisitions. Therefore the shop orders under one balance id is scheduled together and taken the desired relationship on the schedule.

Prerequisites

The shop order requisition must have been balanced using the Balance Requisition function.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system release requisitions with the same balance ID, regardless of requisition number. All shop order requisitions released simultaneously receive the same shop order number but different release numbers. After requisitions are released into shop orders, they disappear from Batch Balancing, since they have become shop orders.

Procedure

  1. In the Requisition No list box, select the requisition to release.
  2. Select Release - Balance ID via the right mouse button.
  3. It will create shop orders for the balance batch to process
    Note : If the planner wish to schedule the created shop orders using APB or CBS, then use the following procedure given below.

If Advanced Planning Board (APB) or CBS is used

  1. Open Advanced Planning Board (from the Shop Order window, the balance id can be selected) or the CBS client (Simulation Client window or Scheduling Client window related to the particular site).
  2. From the Advanced Planning Board window, select Order Structure and Batch Balancing IDs. There all the batch balance ids are listed.
  3. Then the shop orders under this batch balance id object can be scheduled as one order structure.
