Perform Takt  Time Calculation

Explanation

This activity is used to calculate the takt time for defined inputs. The calculated value is saved, and can be used as the basis for additional activities such as setting the line run rate, or as the baseline takt time for comparison in the query line operations. 

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• A production line must have been defined with operating minutes. 
• Some demand details must exist for the sample date range. 

System Effects

• Takt time will be calculated and stored for the production line, along with the other values documenting the data used as inputs for the takt time calculation. 
• The calculated value will over write the existing value.

Procedure

1. Open the Production Line Management window, and right-click and then click Calculate Takt Time.
2. The Takt Time Demand sample start and the end dates appear in the dialog box according to the default  scheduling horizon. You can manually change this date in the dialog box.
3. Click OK.
